At Fins to Fur, we bring over a decade of professional dog training experience combined with three years of experience training rescued dolphins, otters, and pelicans. This has allowed us to specialize in animal training across all species. Whether you have a dog, cat, bird, reptile, or any other furry, feathered, or scaled friend, we are here to help you and your animal companion. Located about a mile from downtown Dunedin, we service most of the Tampa Bay Area.

Whether your pet needs basic obedience training or advanced behavioral modification, we’re here to help. Founded by a former dolphin trainer, our approach integrates the proven and research-backed techniques of marine mammal training into the world of household pets. With a deep understanding of animal behavior and psychology, we are dedicated to enhancing the bond between animals and their human companions.
Our Services
Virtual Consultation
Join our lead trainer for a private Zoom consultation in which we learn about your pet, learn what your training goals are, work on a training plan and discuss which of our services would be best for you and your pet.
Private Lessons
Our private lessons are one-on-one sessions in which we work with you and your pet in order to accomplish your behavioral goals. They can occur in your home or in our training area. Standard private lessons consist of 6 sessions, typically occurring once a week.
Board and Train
In our Board and Train program your dog will be staying in our lead trainer’s home for a period of 2 weeks. Let us do the hard work for you, and at the end of the two weeks you’ll pick up a better trained dog! A great option if you want quicker results without the effort of private lessons, or if you’re going on vacation and want to come home to a dog that’s more well behaved.
Puppy Camp
Getting a puppy is super exciting, but also incredibly exhausting. Puppies chew, bark, have accidents, and are LOT of work. In Puppy Camp we do the hard parts of raising a puppy for you. Your puppy will stay in our lead trainer’s home for 2 weeks learning all the essentials like potty training, walking on a leash, socialization, and obedience.
Behavioral Consulting for Zoos and Sanctuaries
Zoos and sanctuaries do vital work, and at Fins To Fur, we love supporting them in caring for their animals. Whether you're dealing with unwanted behaviors, want to boost your enrichment program, or just want to elevate the care of your animals, we're here to help.
